Intelligent Battery Management
Now you don't have to worry about running out of battery. With a new battery management system from Suunto, 3 predefined battery modes (Performance, Endurance and Ultra) delivers from 25 hours to up to 120 hours* of recording time with GPS tracking on. The system warns you to use a sufficient battery life mode and if the watch notices you are running low on battery during an exercise, it will automatically suggest changing to a different battery mode.
Suunto FUSEDTRACK™
On long ultra runs, battery life is often the limiting factor for recording distance and track accurately, as GPS is a heavy drain on the battery. With the recent change of chipset providers from SIRF to Sony and Suunto’s unique FusedTrack™ algorithm, Suunto 9 allows you to extend battery life by lowering GPS power without significantly compromising accuracy.
This new technology combines GPS and motion sensor data to improve track and distance accuracy. In short, FusedTrack has the ability to get GPS tracks without GPS data.
